Back to Back Shape describing game

November 29, 2011

Here’s a game that I’ve been reminded of recently and can be played in pairs.

It’s designed to improve communication skills, describing shapes skills and accuracy of language use.
Also, it’s actually fun.
I’ve wondered about recording a description for a shape and playing it to the class so they get the idea.

Let me know how it goes in your class.

Love how students need to know and use math vocabulary for this activity! Thanks for sharing!

I use something similar in teacher training sessions, but they draw on mini-whiteboards to save paper. It teaches important lessons about clarity of instruction and the dangers of not having a shared sense of what some terms mean. Great stuff.

Thanks Cazz. Mini-whiteboards is such a good idea! Don’t know why I didn’t think of it.
