Icosahedron decoration by yr8

In one of the lessons this last week, I made decorations with year 8 students (12 to 13 years old).
On coloured paper, draw several circles and then construct equilateral traingles in each one. If you cut out four of these circles and then fold on the lines, you get convenient sticking flaps which you can glue and leave on the outside to get a pretty looking tetrahedron.
Some students then adapted the idea for cube shapes and one student wanted to make the icosahedron and stayed through lunch to complete it.
