Maths intervention and Social Media

June 6, 2012

I’ve just seen this brilliant idea from Emily Hughes (@ilovemathsgames)

It’s essentially an idea to send weekly tweets/facebook posts to students about revision tips and subject specific ideas but allowing collaboration from other teachers to provide those tips.

Here’s a direct link to the Google Doc if you want to add your own ideas and tips.

I think this hits several things that appeal to me:

  • Revise earlier than you would normally plan to
  • Using social media in an easy-to-do way
  • Planning to schedule tweets in advance (ie don’t make the weekly updates a chore)
  • The collaborative nature of the intent

Well done Emily – a great idea. Now I just need to convince my school.
