Area of hexagon puzzle

If you’ve listened to episode 4 of Wrong, but Useful, you’ll have heard me not explain the solution to episode 3’s puzzle very well at all.
Here’s me rectifying that.

If you want to think about the puzzle first, it’s:

An equilateral triangle and regular hexagon have equal perimeters.
The area of the triangle is 2.
What’s the area of the hexagon?
