Eggs and egg boxes

April 9, 2014

I saw an interesting combinations lesson a while back based on arrangements of eggs in boxes.
It was based on a 2×3 box but I hadn’t seen this shape egg box before.

Does it make the investigation or questioning more interesting if the eggs can be upside down:

Then there’s also things like rotational and reflectional symmetry too of course.

  1. Should it read 3×3? I’ve not seen a nine egg box before either, seems odd. I reckon there’s a ton of lessons in it though!

    • I meant the lesson I saw was based on a 2×3 box.
I’ve only just seen this 3×3 one and someone else on twitter says that 5×2 ones are readily available.

    I’m pretty sure I’ve seen 3×5 and maybe 5×6
